Soil2Soul is the brain child of a small group of passionate primary producers. We have a core belief around the vital importance of healthy food, skilful primary production techniques and the implicit value that the land plays in the holistic health of the nation.
Whilst the family farm has been the backbone of agriculture in the past, it is not sustainable in its current structure. As a consequence one of the biggest species threat we face in Australia is that of the skilled farmer. And without them, not only is our food security at risk but also the very land itself.
Soil2Soul takes a modern and holistic approach to land, people and food. It optimises each of these elements by utilising modern and scientific practices.
Rather than being a hierarchy – Soil2Soul looks at the concept of a ‘holarchy’ where each person’s value comes from the unique contribution they make.
People work collaboratively each bringing their unique skills and passion. The result is a synergy and synergies are the renewable energy forces that drive innovation and success. Soil2Soul embraces the principles of Conscious Capitalism, looking to generate emotional, social and financial value for all of
their stakeholders.
The model combines skills in a new way – ethical investors provide the capital so that the land ownership is separated from land management and food production. The land asset is managed by a highly skilled team so that the land, the farmers and the produce are of highest quality. This provides an opportunity for investors to have a safe and increasing asset that is being optimised for the growth of food and energy and the protection of the soil, flora and fauna in a way that is holistic and sustainable. This is an intergenerational investment that is protecting our most precious resource for future generations.
The ‘holarchy’ will include ethical investors who share the Soil2Soul vision and we believe that together we can create a vibrant new future for agriculture in Australia.
